「賽馬會運算思維教育」計劃

     「賽馬會運算思維教育」計劃於2016/17學年啟動，由香港賽馬會慈善信託基金捐助二億一千六百萬，並與香港教育大學、美國麻省理工學院及香港城市大學共同策劃推動小學運算思維教育。

        計劃旨在啟發莘莘學子在日常生活中的數碼創意，並為裝備他們應對未來的挑戰。有關課程令學生認識到自己不只是單純的科技消費者，更可以從科技創造者的角度接觸科技，體會運用科技來助己助人。

        陳瑞祺（喇沙）小學成為「賽馬會運算思維教育」計劃第一階段32間網絡小學之一，令本校在編程教育方面掀起新一章。來自本港和國際的資深學者及專家為本校提供全面的支援，包括教學資源、教師培訓、課堂支援及一筆過津貼協助學校成立「賽馬會運算思維教育創意天地」（Coolthink@JC Studio）。以上各項的支援有助學校在這四年順利推行世界級的編程教育課程。

計劃目標：

- 發展學生運算思維概念
- 發展學生運算思維視野
- 提升教師教學能量
- 發展實證為本的教學資源

        這四年的實證研究結果顯示，學生的運算思維能力顯著提升。因此「賽馬會運算思維教育」計劃會於2020-2024年邁進第二階段，持續提供最新的教學資源，包括人工智能、機械編程及設計思維，並加入168間學校參與。陳瑞祺(喇沙)小學秉承喇沙的辦學理念：「用心追求學問，矢志服務社群」(Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve)，由計劃最初的先導學校一員，發展至成為四所資源學校之一。本校教師肩負推動運算思維教育的使命，無私地與同工分享這四年的寶貴經驗，協助他們有序地推行及實踐。在未來的日子，本校會定期舉辦多場老師、學生、家長工作坊及研討會，致力培養未來的主人翁成為數碼世界的先鋒！

CoolThink@JC

      Started from 2016/17 academic year, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust set aside $216 million for a four-year programme to promote coding education for primary schools. The Programme ‘CoolThink@JC’ built a great partnership with the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), the Massachusetts Institiute of Technology (MIT), and the City University of Hong Kong (CityU).

      ‘CoolThink@JC’ strives to inspire students to apply digital creativity in their daily lives and prepare them to tackle future challenges. It is considered as an indispensable capability to empower students to move beyond mere technology consumption and into innovative use of technologies for social good.

       Chan Sui Ki (La Salle) Primary School is selected as one of the 32 Network Schools, which receives support in implementing a world-class coding education curriculum from leading international and local educators and professionals. The Programme provides curriculum materials, comprehensive teacher development, co-teaching support, and a one-off grant to set up a ‘Coolthink@JC Studio’ at our school.

Programme Aims and Objectives:
- Develop students’ fundamental programming knowledge
- Develop computational thinking practices
- Develop computational perspectives
- Build capacity of teachers
- Develop evidence-based teaching and learning materials

       With evidence of success, the CoolThink@JC programme starts a second phase from 2020 to 2024. The Programme will introduce new curricular materials, including artificial intelligence (AI), programmable robotics and design thinking.

       By opening up CoolThink@JC’s school network to 168 additional schools in Phase II, our school is invited to be one of the four Resource Schools, becoming a pioneer among primary schools in Hong Kong. Our experienced teachers will organize regular experience sharing and dissemination lectures and workshops for teachers, students and parents from other schools. Our school is dedicated and committed to achieve the Lasallian ideal: ‘Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve’, in order to nurture and provide comprehensive support to our next generation.
